You can’t save too much money, especially when you’re pregnant. Being financially prepared for having and raising a baby will help put your mind at ease and give you one less thing to worry about.
Sometimes the hardest part about saving is getting started. For me, saving small amounts frequently is less daunting than stashing away a large chunk of money all at once. I’ve put together a few simple options to guide you in challenging yourself to save money each week of pregnancy and ultimately help you reach your pregnancy savings goal.
This is a great starting place to get in the habit of becoming a consistent saver. Saving money takes discipline and the more regularly you do it, the easier it will become.
Challenge #1: Save $1,000
Consistently save $25 each week of pregnancy.
Start small and build your weekly savings amount.
Alternate between saving $10 and $40 each week.
Challenge 2: Save $2,000
Consistently save $50 each week.
Increase your weekly savings amount by $2 each week.
Alternate between saving $30 and $70 every week.
Challenge 3: Save $3,000
Consistently save $75 each week of pregnancy.
Increase savings by $5 every week for the first half of pregnancy and decrease savings by $5 every week for the second half of pregnancy.
Alternate between saving $50 and $100 each week.
It’s always satisfying to be able to check the box as “done” each week, so pick your challenge and download the free printable pdf. If you want to create your own weekly savings plan I’ve included a printable fill-in-the-blank version below.
Happy saving mommas!
